Manley's Getting Surface Rust on them-- Tips?
Hey guys, i've been storing my manley's in their box for about 6 months now (long build process) and took them out to see that there is some surface rust on the out side of the rods? Is there any way to get rid of this? I was storing htem w/ a little wd-40 on em, apparently i shoulda bathed em' in oil instead. Also, if there is a tad bit of the surface rust on where the crank is, should I worry about that as well?

just get a sheet of teh finest sand paper u can find, and hand sand it lightly, once u get the rust off, just put some motor oil on them with ur finger, put them in a sealed plastic bag and put them back in the box...they should be fine for a good while after that, just keep checking them every few weeks if ur storing them for that much longer, be sure to keep them oiled, that'll make them not rust. the wd40 is the same idea, but motor oil would better, cuz wd40 is thin and evaporates easily.
