I love my Pauters BUT for the B16A app they are still 5/16" bolts actually. I called Pauter and asked why and they said they based the B16A rods after their D16 rod designs. Weird! The Manley even on B16A are 3/8" rod bolts actually

hey i hope nobody took it the wrong way about the manleys , im not bad mouthing them i have used them with success. but from all the years i have been building honda motors i have never i mean never had a problem with a pauter.
its not only the size of the bolt that comes into play the material that the bolt is made out of has alot to do with it.

Yess! My rod bolts are thicker than boostfed's! wooo hooo!

The bottom end of the rod will have more material added around it. If you don't do that, it allows the cap to stretch in the bolt area, which will cause spun bearings.
