Which Manifold/Turbo setup
I am in the process of rebuilding my motor. Below is what is consists of the block.
B18C1 sleeved AEBS 83mm
LS Crank
JE 10:1 Pistons
Manley Turbo Tuff rods.
My B16a2 head will be on this block. At the moment it will be stock head until I get funds to build it.
My current setup right now:
Stock B16a2
Blox Manifold
SC34 ar .48
550cc
255lph Walbaro FP
This will be a weekend car but I would like it to be a very fun car not too laggy but can make good power(good power band). I wanted to know the differences on the bottom mount divided/top mount divided. Also what turbo would be the best. I am looking for about 400 on the street(pump) and whatever c16 will give me later.
I do understand I need to change the fuel pump and go to higher injectors. I am mainly concerned with IM(Edelbrock or Skunk2)/Turbo Manifold/Turbocharger setup.
Just FYI: Future Head:
Skunk2 Pro1? or Tuner1 or tuner2
Super tech Valvetrain
Skunk2 Cam gears

Re: Which Manifold/Turbo setup
if 400 is your goal not too laggy, use a sk2 over the vic x. the vic x is great for top end. will hurt your low end.
400 is your goal only, get a decent waste gated log. a ram horn will be good, and you can grow into it.
i see you have a blox mani, that is a sk2 knock off right? that should do you fine. and an intake walbro will be fine for you.

Blox manifold is the Turbo manifold not the IM.

Re: Which Manifold/Turbo setup
There will definately be a difference in lag from my last setup (same motor on ramhorn and 18G) but on my tuner's motor which is a little bigger than mine with the same turbo kit made over 50lbs at only 5000rpm. I don't mind some lag, I don't want to be in boost on the street much any way, I'm really looking for part throttle cruising drivability so I'm still able to drive to events and the track
your setup is different so a 6765 will probably be over kill for you but I'm spinning the motor to 10k for a sick 5-10k rpm powerband

Re: Which Manifold/Turbo setup
if you want around 450-500 i would do the billit 6262 on a fr non ac ramhorn. cams i would say sk2 tunner 2s for im its the other way around the sk2 will make more topend but alot less everywhere esle in the power band. so i would go for the jg/vic x

Re: Which Manifold/Turbo setup
I was looking at the 6262 but I see different kinds. PTE/HP/SC whats the difference. Also is there a divided housing for the 6262. I was looking for a divided manifold to get the benefit of spool.

Re: Which Manifold/Turbo setup
for 450-500whp, the 6262 is ok, but its really big. you can have responsive setups that are a little smaller for that power need.
Every company has its pros and cons. what you need to do to get a more focused opinion is to be more descriptive about what it is you plan to do with the car as a basis (no E.Ts, please), how often you drive it (Daily, street, circuit or strip), and what your budget is. (And yes, EVERYONE has a budget). Honestly, for that power level, divided housing isn't necessary for response (see sig), but remember, the larger the wheels, the less responsive.
