So for all the guys that make thier own piping, do you get the ends beaded to prevent the couplings from blowing off under boost? Or is that really an issue?

it is a good idea to do it I have one pipe that isnt beaded and it comes off evert once in a while, i am just gonna have the guy that does all my stuff put a bead of weld around the pipe

Yup...bead the weld. If you don't have a welder...a more ghetto way to do it is this:

Drill a small hole, and put a little rounded head screw though it. It'll help to keep the hoses from blowing off.

Worse case scenario, purchase t-bolt clamps, you'll never have a problem.

that works but the welded bead came off on my buddies car and went into the turbo impeller blades. there is a bead maker that presses a ream into the pipe. xoticmotorsports.com did mine cause there close to my house. they might be able to point you in the right direction.

I'm using t-bolt turbo clamps and havent had any problems

I have 4 left over if anyone is interested, they are for 2" piping.

yeah i have T-bolt clamps on my one pipe that has no bead for now and it hasnt come off yet, they usually go for around $4 a piece but they are worth it

Bead rolling the pipes is a good idea, it can't hurt. Usually cost $10-20 per pipe or $360 if you want to buy your own bead roller.
Bead rolled pipes with regular worm gear clamps hold up pretty well hose pop-off. Usually there is no need for T-bolts.

i guess i'm lucky. i use worm clamps. i just cleaned any traces of oil off the pipes and then filed the ends where the silicone couplers connect to rough up the surface and then tightened the **** out of them.

i havent had a problem my pipes yet. i bought this hose thats heavy duty ish from napa and used that as my couplers. It was a bitch to get over the pipes but it isnt going ne where.

So can most muffler shops bead roll the pipes? Or should I just try welding a bead around the edge of each joint?

if you have access to a welder, just bead weld it. thats what I did.
