ok so i searched H-T and didnt find any info on how to make a dose pipe
i also searched google n yahoo ... found acouple forums but nothin helpful
so if anyone knows how to make a dose pipe let me know. also if u have any good/bad opinions feel free to share

From what I gathered through google, it's what Australians call a piece of pipe fitted to the inlet of the turbo with some mesh or a filter on the end to increase spool-up noise. Some forum posts I found(from Aussie forums) mentioned using mandrel bent pipe with a filter on the end, or a straight piece of pipe with mesh, so I'm assuming it's just meant to be freer flowing than the stock airboxes or whatever these factory-turbo cars/trucks come equipped with, while also making a (perceived)cooler sound. To the OP, just match the size of your intake pipe to the size of your turbo inlet and run the appropriately sized filter.

yea pretty much i just figured id have fun with it for alittle ..

but if anyone has anymore info on it id appreciate it cause i still havent figured out if u have to remove the BOV or not

it seems like a really simple concept but its still confusing

it has nothing to do with the BOV or any of the charged piping dude.

If you have a stock turbo car, it simply removes all the OEM plastic intake piping that feeds the turbo with aluminum or steel piping and places a filter on the end.

I'm not quite sure you understand the concept of this, but it doesn't do anything, and if you have an aftermarket turbocharged car, you've already got something like this.

If I'm guessing correctly, they are changing from recirculated to open BOV dumps. Thats where the solid intake pipe comes in - no bypass-inlet for the bov/bypass. Or they just don't have bypass valves on those vehicles, and the stock non-dose pipe intake is silencing pre-existing compressor surge.

Dose pipes apparently give no added performance, therefore are considered RICE on H-T. That would be one reason your searches have come up empty. We don't have a RICE sub-forum yet.

but it doesn't sound to me like he's driving a stock turbocharged car that would have the necessary items to require a mod like this.

So, I don't think he understands or knows exactly what it is.
