Default Made 194hp on 3psi, does that seem low?

I just got my gsr tuned yesterday. I have a 40mm tial wastegate with a 5psi spring no boost controller. It was only boosting 3psi on the dyno and I made 194hp/149tq. Does that seem high? I have still have my stock exhaust and I have to wastegate dumptube down but its in front of my engine. Should I route it to exit behind my motor?

Thats not too high considering what the GSR puts out stock. The dump tube is fine there.

I don't think the dumptube issue is a problem....
why are you only boosting 3 psi?

Something isn't right, you should be boosting 5psi. Double check all your connections and vacuum lines, especially to the wastegate.

I agree, he should be seeing at least 5psi. Is this a used wastegate?

you probably are boosting to 5psi over ambient but your ems is only seeing 3psi over sea level

Stock gsr motor with JG victor X intake manifold, 28x6x2.5 intercooler, Lovefab SST turbo manifold, turbonetics T3/To4B stage 2 wheel .48a/r on the hotside, full-race 3" downpipe connected to 2 1/2" exhaust no cat w/ stock muffler. The wastegate is a tial 40mm brand new. It hit 3psi at about 4500rpms and just stayed there redlining at 8k. I don't know why it only hit 3psi with a 5psi spring. I have the wastegate vacuum line to the nipple on the turbo. Also vtec is set at 5600.

Set wastegate vac off the Intake manifold and you will get 5psi. You are probably having a 2psi pressure drop across the IC, piping, TB...

let me take a wild guess, ur reading off a pos autometer boost gauge? the psi drop should be 1 maby 2, if u have a huge ic

That, and don't forget the fact that it depends where his wastegate is seeing the vacuum signal..

Intake manifold or pre-intercooler side...

Well it's pre-intercooler side since it's connected on the nipple that is on the turbo.

This was a baseline run just to see if there are any problems before I hook up the boost controller. I wasn't about to just go 10psi from the start. Good thing I did because I had a few pop up on while at the dyno.

Does it matter where the boost gage is routed to or what brand it is? Mine is going to the intake manifold.

I should think you'd spool a T04B with stage 2 .48 AR T3 hotside by, uhm, 2500 rpms? Less?

Yeah.. you're only seeing 3psi because you're getting your vacuum for the WG from the turbo and your MAP sensor reads it from the IM, in which you have a pressure loss through your intercooler as someone stated before. I prefer to run all of my vacuum connections from the intake manifold. Look into a Golden Eagle vacuum manifold.

I here it spooling at about 3k and hit 3psi at 4500. My other turbo spooled at 2k, I don't know why this one spools later when it's smaller.
