Default lsvtec burning coolant?

Ok...my car runs great until I make a full boost run. As soon as I end the run...say maybe 10 secs or so (just a quick highway run, etc) smoke starts coming out of radiator. I have no idea what it would be as the motor was just built, and I wouldnt expect the headgasket to be faulty. Can someone please give me some ideas?

sounds like the headgasket to me. take the cap off when the car is idling on start up and see if it foams or bubbles up once it warms up.

actually...i think i found the problem. theres a hole in the coolant reservoir and i can see traces of coolant around that area....and I think it just sprays the coolant onto the radiator when it gets hot and thats whats burning off. Im gonna switch the resrvoir and hopefully that takes care of it.......

the coolant reservoir really shoudnt get hot unless the radiator is puking the coolant into the reservoir. in which case the car is overheating.

if your reservoir is filling up and dumping out coolant... then that is a tell tale sign of a bad headgasket.

well the headgasket is new...so i hope its not that. and it isnt like large amounts of coolant...just a little bit being sprayed.

Sounds like a headgasket to me, too. I had a brand new HKS gasket that was doing that right after I put it on as well. It was popped in the first 100 miles due to two head studs that had destroyed the threads and wern't holding properly.

I had the same problem too although my car was N/A. Turned out that my head gasket was upside down the guy who did my previous setup messed it up. I think it's head gasket related.
