Default ls/vtec turbo help

Need some help with my ls/vtec. It's just a basic ls/vtec del sol with b16 head, ls stock bottom. Motor pretty much stock other than the itr intake/gsr exhaust cams...chipped ecu. Recently bought a t3/t4 turbonetics turbo and hooked everything up correctly... Running just a vortech fmu with missing link with the stock injectors from a b16.

Question is... and i'm sure I'm gonna catch hell from ya'll.. but when I hit 5k it completely falls flat on it's face. I figured it was just fuel cuts/injector size but I turned the boost down to 5 (external wastegate) and does the same. I'm running premium gas so I know that's not what it is... I got new ngk plugs with .40 gap... I ordered some plugs and hopefully that will help alittle but do ya'll think I just need to order some bigger injectors also?? I know I need to tune real bad, but I had a 92 ls that ran 14lbs all day without problems. I'm really at a loss here cause I've tried everything I could think of without having to spend $$$ on injectors.

Any input would be awesome.. thanks

At least get some DSM injectors. 240cc injectors are just too small for forced induction. You just got a real nice turbo, spending like $50 on injectors and like 10 on a resistor box shouldn't break the bank.

I really have not done anything with the timing... that's why I ordered wires and I also got a dizzy. Not too sure on the fmu ratio but I talked to a guy last nite and he thinks the fmu is f'ed so that's prob were I'm gonna start for now and order injectors sometime this week.

both good questions. the combination of the fmu dumping fuel and incorrect timing is most likely causing the issues. you already know the car needs tuned so my suggestion is to take it easy until you do.

also learn what parts you are using. just tossing on a fmu and not knowing the ratio doesnt help anything. you could be running too rich or too lean and you have no idea and we cant help if we dont know what you are using. you have a good start with the chipped ecu now grab some injectors, a walbro 255 and tune.
