When i saw this post i was like man these guys dont rev their motors at all, as Lightning orders stated, all the guys around here rev anywhere from 8500-9000 with no problems at all.

i was like--what a phucking d1ck, why is he lying
your car is very impressive

impressed me so much i started my ls/vtec turbo
at 6psi 13.30 at 105--still working out the bugs

I'm sure I'll see you at etown again this year
</TD></TR></TABLE>

Haha! You have no idea know how many people didn't believe me, All I know is I wish I had pistons/rods....most of the money spent on my car goes towards cute JDM bullshit
That's pretty tight that you went LS/VTEC after seeing my car, get the bugs worked out and you will definetly get that 12 sec slip !
I gotta replace my clutch, it started slipping after I got a new set of slicks. After that I'll be back at E-town. Good luck!

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Targa4Life &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Chrome Pipes, what kind of horsepower and torque numbers are you running? I have an ls/vtec turbo with (soon to be) and 81.5mm bore and I too only have stock rods and no balancing or sleeves or anything. The only thing that will be different about anything below the HG will be the 81.5mm pistons. Last year I made 234whp and 190lbs of torque. I was interested in knowing what kind of mods you have and what numbers your producing. BTW im very impressed with those 1/4mile times. cool burnout in the vid too </TD></TR></TABLE>

Thanks man. If you are doing pistons, why not rods as well. If you are going to take everything apart, at the least get upgraded rod bolts.

The main reason why I didn't bust apart my LS block was that it only had like 1,000 miles on it. I have seen stock internal B-series engines put out over 400 whp and run 10's all day long. So when it came time to pit my motor together, I was willing to push the engine to its limit. The car was tuned at InlinePro. It put down 356 whp / 257 wtq at like 16-17 psi on C16

I know the a/f is a little hairy, but I have richened it up a bit since then .

The engine setup is a basic as it gets:
Stock internal b16a head / stock internal b18a block
InlinePro 2mm headgasket
ARP headstuds
DRAG III kit - TO4E 60 trim / .63 a/r exhaust
2.5 in. dp -&gt; 3.0 in. custom exhaust
Here's where it gets rediculous:
V-AFC, RC 440's, Walboro intank pump, Cartech FMU

Sometimes I don't get why it works, but it does. Believe me. The car rides great - part throttle no problem. It's sometimes a little fussy in traffic, but rips it at WOT.

When I save up some $$$ I plan on getting AEM, until then I keep it at 12psi on the street and it has seen up to 20 psi on C16 at the track.....and once in a while on the Garden State Parkway

If you have the eagle rods already in there (hopefully the newer ones with the bigger rod bolts) I would think you would be good to 8k. </TD></TR></TABLE>

So, if I have the old eagle rods and shift at 85-8600k (while making 540hp)...I should be worried?

I am assuming you are talking to the other guy and not me. If me, then my car has been going since April 2004 (when I bought it, and have everything done at once). It's gone through about 27,000 miles at 15psi since April....nothing wrong, and now revving to 8000rpms.

I am not sure how necessary they really are. I did them because I knew I would be pushing 28psi, 550whp minimum goal, and revving to like 8500-9000.
