Default ls/vtec turbo

i have a b18b that i want to vtec AND turbo. should i stick with my stock lower comp. pistons? should i leave the b18b absolutely stock and just slap on a bone stock b16/b18c1 head and turbo that? if so how much power should i make if tuned well? will prob. use a 14b and johnyracecar fmic,dsm injectors,hondata or fmu(depending on my budget),etc. will only boost around 7-8 psi. thanks

well i would definetly go turbo if i were you but for reliability issues i would most definetly without a doubt instead of buying a vtec head would buy stronger pistons and rods. boost that bitch without vtec. vtec is good and all but it doesnt even compare to another 150whp you could get from upin the boost.

umm yea i agree with the first two guys. or do it all build the bottom end make sure the head is in good condition and then turbo that. I think you will spend a lot of $$$ and time and headache to pop the hood, have everyone go uooo ahhh and then see you do like a 13 sec. pass. then they will go ohhhh noooo

me=built ls and love it

If you invest some time into picking out the right tool the turbo will be quick enough. Obviously there will be some lag, but the extra boost your running, and higher grade turbo (thanks to the upgraded internals you used money to buy -_-) will more than make up for vtec.
To be honest if your gonna be racing/autocrossing with this or anything of the like id spend the money first on suspension...

i have the exact same setup that u are talking about and it made good power but i was also running 10psi man that bitch pulled but i blew it up like 5 days later so im with the rest of guys on building a block that way your making good power and its reliable im going to try another stock block with new rings and bearings and see how that works and im also going to build another block on the side
