I need some decent reliable setups, price doesn't matter
Im trying to reach 300WHP. I know that 7psi will not get me to 300whp but is it more reliable than 15psi with 9.0:1 C/R pistons??????

I got 9:1 c/r .5mm+ JE pistons w/ some eagle rods and its my DD. I spun a bearing last month, but thats not the pistons fault, **** happens every day to SOMEBODY (guess it was my turn). At full bar (14.7 psi), you should be just fine on 93 octane with those pistons, and with all the head work and the cams you've got listed, you should be pulling a HELL of alot more than 300whp.

well if you spun a bearing on 14.7 with 9:1 c/r pistons, would it be safer to buy some acl bearings or something???? and is it safe to run on pump gas with 15psi if I was gonna do my 15psi setup?????
Also might I ask how much MPG would you get out of 14.7psi for a DD??????

I DID buy some ACL bearings, and so should you, but know that if (and when) you ever have an oil pump failure and loose all oil pressure, those bearings are the "sacrificial" piece of metal that over heats and literally melts away before there is too much damage to the crank & rod. The thing about ACLs is that they have a hardened steel back plate that WILL scour your crank if that ever happens, meaning you get to pull your motor and buy a new crank, kinda like me. Get an oil pressure guage and WATCH that MFer like your life (or at least you motor) depends on it.

But you should be MORE than fine at 15psi with that CR, and if you really don't feel comfortable with it, find yourself some 8.8:1 comp pistons, it's all whatever. Get yourself a decent IC so your intake temps stay low enough and you should be okay. There's ALOT of variables involved in (dare I say it?) detonation-your comp. ratio, your air inlet temp., your a/f mix ratio, the amount of boost you're running, your timing, the amount of duration your cams have, lots of stuff.

And the milage you get out of your car is up to you. Its all in your driving style and the distance your foot stays from the floor. You rag the **** out of your car all the time, your MPGs can get down into the teens- you take it easy on it and learn how to drive it, theres no reason why youshouldn't get 25+

If all your looking for is 300 horsepower out an ls then I would find an nice stock block. Just get a nice turbo kit and thats it, I was making about 300 and it lasted for almost 4 yrs on the same motor.
