all these debates over which tranny to use when running n2o/boost.........
b16a w/100 shot direct port system, should i try out the LS cable tranny i have laying around or convert the car to fit my 96 gsr hydro tranny? i know the gsr has closer gearing for acceleration, but i keep thinking maybe the LS tranny would work nicely with the slightly longer gears especially running this much n2o
any help/persuasion would be gratetful

Yea I think this is a bad idea. It takes long enough to reach redline with a B18B and LS transmission...add a few hundred more RPM and you're going to hate it. On a side note (and this is unintentional but I just thought of it as I was typing), I know a guy with a cable B16 transmission for sale if you're in the market.
those 90-91 are crappy, you said you have a 96 gsr, I would definatly use that, im using a 95 Gsr in my CRX with a Hasport eb2 hydro kit. I had a 91 y1 and a 92 ls, the 92 ls could take some beating but the y1 had a bad third (grinded starting around 2500 rpms.) and soon started grinding 2nd. They have smaller internals and are no where as strong as there hydro conterparts.
ps Camp1320 has a great deal on the hydro mounts, he got me mine. (sounds like you have an ef)
