Re: LS Rods in a D16. (b18bturbo)
for the cost of the rods and machine work..migh as well just save a measily 200 bucks more and get some of the cheaper rods on the market ..they will be fine on low boost.

Well, my LS rods cost me $75 and the machining cost $80. I'd be hard pressed to find an deal like that going aftermarket. Now I just have to assemble the shortblock. Too bad it's like the 3rd engine down on my list to complete

Re: LS Rods in a D16. (DSF)
well thats it. if I'm going to buy a cheaper rod for low psi then I'll just keep my D16 rods. I know guy's running 10 PSI on those suckers with no problems. but I've also seen all four rods twist off right off just above the crank and rip through the block and crank girdle.
anyway how much boost would those LS be good for on a D16 block?
Does anybody have pictures of both?

Re: LS Rods in a D16. (Hybrid)
Import Tuner said they are good for like 300 HP. I may do the same thing come rebuild time since that's about all I'm shooting for.

If the motor is tuned correctly, the rods will not be at too much risk. If it is not tuned well and there is detonation, that is when you have to worry.
