Default LS Headwork question

My friend bought a B18A1 and is going LS/vtec with it and doesn't need the head. I opted to go for LS-T and he said I could have the head. I have a B18B1, will the head mate up without much trouble being different codes? He told me that he knows some guys that will clean it and do a 3 angle valve job for me, polish, and port it for $189. Is this a good deal? And if so can somebody explain the angling and how it works? I really don't know much about head work.

PS I didn't know if this would go here or all motor, but since I'm looking for the head to flow for a turbo setup I placed it here.

$189 is insane cheap. In fact its so cheap that i prolly wouldnt do it. If you understood the time and effort that actually goes into PROPERLY porting a head then youd understand why i said that.

Its really easy to **** up a head while porting it. Take off too much here and itll kill flow...take off too much there and youre in a water jacket. Theres very little room for error. Leave it to professionals

I put over 20hrs into my head...and with a stock valve job it flow'd 228.5cfm. With a good radius valve job itll flow MUCH more. Remember that a good valve job will help flow alot more than porting it.

If you have any questions feel free to shoot me a PM

Working over an LS head is a great idea and even better investment. I would send it to a reputable shop though.
