Default LS/Vtec vs K Series

WILL A MOD PLEASE EDIT MY TITLE

Going to swap my 96 EK soon have ls/vtec in it now and can either fully build/sleeve boost it or ditch that and go k series prolly with a mild low compression low boost build...

looking at a

84mm LS/Vtec Sleeved block, b16a PNP head, cams, boosted

vs

k24 low compression block w/ k20 head, boosted, with all addons

How much can you afford to spend? B-series and K-series are pretty much even when you boost them....

i dont really have a set budget right now, i figured a fully built boosted b series wont be that much more than a mild build boosted K,

if i went B id be replacing Everything anyways (axles, shift linkage, harness, ecu, etc)

and Hondata ecus and much cheaper than Kpro

+ i wont have to sleeve it

just build a b and throw it in there....you will spend too much money on the k swap.

...Not to mention time spent on it. There's also the way k-cars are theft magnets moreso than normal turbo Hondas.

The only reason I'd go with a K24 is if it was going to be a street machine in which I was a fatass and had a few hundred pounds of stereo system. I've neither, and most people don't as well. FYI you can push the fully built B to mild built K power levels w/o needing sleeves. If you're thinking mild built K = 600whp, thats a different story.

You just need to ask yourself what you need this for, and write down the pros/cons of each. IMO the only real benifit of K's is the extra displacement. T-chain and 6spd is a plus for the street, otherwise there's nothing that seriously stands out.
