I have an eg w/ d16y8 fully built 440 rc injectors 9:5.1, hondata. The motor ran good in our ek, we put a new turbo kit on and had to freshen up the motor. We now have an issue at low RPM, it makes just enough power to move (very sluggish) but still makes about 10 lbs while going nowhere , as soon as it hits around the vtec mark at 5200 it takes off and makes 16 lbs with alot of power, we boost it and quit and the exhaust manifold glows for about 5 minutes. Air fuels are fine the tune is the same as was in the ek, yet I am brain farting this issue, I know what it is but my mind won't let me figure it out, I guess I have been away too long. Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks

 

I'm a little confused at your post. So you had this motor in an EK, you took it out, rebuilt it and put a new turbo kit on it. Then you swapped it into an EG and didn't retune it. Thats your problem right there. The manifold is glowing because your EGTs are through the roof. A/F isn't the only thing you tune. Your timing map is probably way off. Have you checked base timing? Stop driving it until you get it tuned. Lets hope you didn't do any permanent damage.
