Use 8:1 & below if you have a large-displacement motor and/or crappy tuning, and 10:1 & above if you're running NA or mild boost. 9:1 is going to give you the least problems, and you won't be missing out on very much power at all. Its just a handful of off-boost ponies, after that you just use an increase in timing & boost to more than compensate. Everyone wants to run >10:1 because its JDM, and what's-his-name made XXXwhp with 12.5:1 on boost.

Yeah, I would not blame the pistons, you must have valve to piston clearences wrong, or something else going on. I have never heard of CP pistons just chipping. I would say they're one of the best on the market.

Especially on a 2.0L (84mm bore I assume).

Re: (eg:R)
you should be making close to 800 then i have done quite some 450 whp engines and the ones i have disassembled for upgrades the pistons look like new. kinda strange...

if its a pump gas street car get the lowest you can, we always use the -18cc wiseco pistons, they will get you a hair under 9:1 depending on the setup.
and yeah, cp pistons suck. the last motor i saw with cp pistons fell apart b/c the piston broke in 1/2 over the pin

Re:
oh here we go with the pistons agian. cp pistons are hardly shitty... some people have also had problems with wiseco's too and je and arias, etc... its not a perfect world. alot of people are making huge power on cp's and having no problems... same with wiseco and others. can we not make it a pissing match for once.
back on topic... 9:1 dish would be what I would run, just my 2 cents.
