Log vs Others

What is Bad or good about log style manifolds? and how are they in compare to say the Revhard Cast manifold? or any CAst manifold?

i've heard of people running 10 sec 1/4 mile passes with just simple log manifolds.

I think mainly what a tubular manifold has to offer, is faster spool times, and better high end flow.
