Default a little off topic, but anyone turbo their lawnmower?

My lawnmower broke on me this weekend, and i've gotta rebuild it.
I was thinking of putting a small turbo on it to 'help' it out in the thick patches of grass! Has anyone tried anything like this? Like what size of turbo etc?

My mower is a 4.5hp Briggs & Stratton motor, so I'm trying to find a turbo small enough to fit....I found this:

It says it's an IHI turbo, so I went to the IHI site and the smallest turbo they make is the RHF3:

it's looking a little big for my application, but 'might' just do....what do you guys think?

That would be sweet on a go kart! It would probably be really loud.

you can use a turbocharger off a Turbo Sprint.... But even then it may be a little large, and they are VERY small.. the compressor wheels diameter is about the size of the smallest section of your pinki... not kidding.

I'll probably get tar'd and feathered for this, but I think you are better off going all-motor on that deal. The B&S engines on racing karts make about 11-12 hp on methanol.

I would be scared to put too much power through that thing. If that crank breaks and flings the blade out, guess what happens to your feet?

...plus the dangers of having a turbo timer on a giant spining blade of death
