Limits of standard drive shafts ?
What are the limits for standard drive shafts ?, i never hear much about people upgrading on HT, im only asking as i snapped one of mine on with a Stock b16a2 , think i was just unlucky

Stock axles can handle a lot of power. Sounds like you need to practice your launching and learn how to preload the clutch (use of e-brake when launching). Better motor mounts, suspension, and tires should help also. Less strain on the drivetrain = long lasting stock axles.

^-- what he said. i remember one example a hatch claiming 10.50s in his sig a while ago w/ stock axles and an open diff. So much is in how you drive a car.
edit: not saying you're putting undue stress on the axles, like you said you probably were just unlucky

Hai Tran from Revtech Motorworks in Idaho ran 9.85 with stock axles and stock tranny. Pretty much just practice on your preload.
