LEAN!! Car Goes Lean @ 4000+ RPM, TE Fuel Adj Not Working!!
I thought I found the culprit to this problem earlier last week when I swapped out my adjustable B&M FPR.
Took me a while to get the car running flawless and perfect under vacuum and today I tried some boost tuning. Did a run that should have been nice and rich and the air fuels just climb rapidly after 3800 or so rpm
The motor is a d16a6, forged pistons and rods and a lot of headwork. T3 .60/.63 turbo pushing 15psi. DSm 450cc injectors, new walbro high flow pump, gm 3 bar
I figured I was maxing the injectors out and then I turned down the boost to about 7psi, went for a run and right at about 3800-4000 rpm again (4th gear) the air fuel on the wideband just started rising again. They hit 13:1 and I cut it
The fuel cells in TE are maxed 20.62 in boost, the air fuels still skyrocket
What could possibly be the problem?

Re: LEAN!! Car Goes Lean @ 4000+ RPM, TE Fuel Adj Not Working!! (PINKS)
I read your past thread and said to post a bin, but I don't know if it was mentioned about either an exhaust leak or the wideband going bad. Easiest way to check for leaks is to get EXTREMELY soapy water and put it on the exhaust (preferrably colder for obvious reasons).
1 thing that doesn't suggest checking for these thigns is that it actually is worse when idling for both the WB and the exhaust leak which is not your case.....Maybe try this. Do a pull to when the WB says 13ish then shutoff then engine at THAT rpm and pull the plugs. If it's sooty your good, if they look like idle then it's bad. Gotta go

An exhaust leak..? I know i have a pinhole leak in my downpipe around a weld (im no pro) will this cause different readings on my WB02 then what is actually going on?
Sorry for the OT

Yeah fresh air will enter the exhaust system and it will then show up leaner on the o2 then it actaully is. Usually it only affects partial throttle stuff because under WOT gas is trying to escape and not so easy for fresh air to come in.
Pinks:
Somethings not right about that map. The red on the numbers isn't good and is suggesting fuel multiplier problems. What version of TE are you using and also PLEASE post the actually bin, not just the timing maps and fuel maps. I need to look at the whole bin to help you

Curious as to where you found an NG60 3bar BIN file...? If its not your fuel pump, I am going to guess its an issue with that...
I have never seen good working 3 bar code for NG60/TE...I know you can switch map sensors internally but I wasnt aware that it worked nicely (at least it never did for me)

After looking at your file...you def have some issues with Fuel Multipliers.
You have your Boost Eff set to 200%...crazy...and the 500 column and 7400 column bith have values over 20 ms...not feasible really, so your multipliers are all out wack.
I suggest you start over, with a fresh NG60 file (if you can find one for 3 bar)...and go from there.

^^ I dont understand what is wrong with this tune so what could be better with the next.
I believe Im running NG55 code as far as I know
I really need soe help here
I just downloaded TE about a month ago so Im sure its one of the latest
I dont know how I can check fuel pressure under load as I dont have a gauge
The TE cells are maxed though and they dont make adjustments, I doubt FP could fail like that
Also how do I check the fuel multipliers? No idea what that means
Yes the 3 bar option is checked aswell
Im also having an oil burn problem in the #3 cyl, dont know if that would possibly cause this...? I doubt it as the w/b only reads lean @ 3500+ and the car seems to burn a bit of idle when stopping hard for osme reason

Agreed when I saw the maps. I even saw it in the picture that the bin is just not right. I'd start with a NG55 code personally and start FROM SCRATCH.

thats why i made this thread....
its not only 11psi+ it goes with the rpm I believe sometimes, since I turned down the boost and it did it at the same rpm

Then stop trying to tune your car and take it somewhere that does it professionally. There's no shame in asking for help. There's a lot of it in blowing up a built engine because you were too proud to do what you needed the first time

Re: (Archidictus)
I have zero problem interpreting numbers on the wideband and making adjustments in the right spot on the spreadsheet, thats easy for me. Its the little tricks and making a basemap that I dont understand about TE yet
especially since Im one of the only ones running it with a 3 bar map sensor
