I've had a bunch of the same stuff happen to me. What size are your oil feed and return lines? I had oil coming out of the compressor side of my turbo, and its seals were shot inside. I have repositioned my drain line like 3 times and now I think its OK. You said there was oil dripping from the back near your axles - that means its either your oil feed source or maybe even your damn oil filter isnt screwed on tight enough. You better get a bigger drain line, smaller feed line or something because that will be a lot cheaper than buying a new turbo, trust me I'm on my 3rd one.

yeah the return line is pretty big, and the feed line is pretty small i dont think the size is a factor. that like 2 way connector you screw into the block ( the feed line comes off it and the oil pressure sender goes on the end), the nut that has a hole closed up was really lose, which i htink was blowing out a lot of oil under boost causin all the oil to go everywhere. im going to try to tkae off the zip tie holdin the return line, id do it now but theres like a blizzard goin on i hate snow, so ill check it out as soon as it stops.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...WN:IT

i dont know if this will show, but thats the oil line kit i bought..

if my seal is blown cant i just replace them rather then buying a brand new turbo? also, how do i know if they are blown and its just not like the oil being backed up?

How old is your turbo, didn't you say you just got it brand new. The seals are only like $15 if you can get them, but you have to get them installed and then take it to a place that can balance it.

Just because some oil is coming out of the compressor side doesn't mean the seals are blown, and they shouldn't be with a turbo only a few days old; unless there is something really wrong goin on. Just tighten everything again, and don't use teflon tape on the oil line fittings, make sure the drain line is flowing good, you should be able to look at it and know if it looks alright. Get pics of the drain line as soon as you can so we can be sure thats not it. I had some drain lines that looked alright to me, but they turned out to be way too restictive. I only have a 8AN drain line too.

Oh yeah, get an oil pressure guage. Mine reads 80psi at startup idle, and after like 5 minutes of driving the oil is hot and its only at 20psi idling. When I get to high RPMs the pressure goes up to 100psi max. That means yours only leaks when the oil is heated up and thinner, so it is probably leaking through one or more of your fittings, that happened to me too. Check all the fittings is all I can tell you for now.

the fittings? do you mean the hose clamps and stuff and the bolts for the oil lines?

also, i dont have a oil gauge, but iknow it only leaks when driving b/c i sit at idle and it does not leak, its only when the car is warmed and im driving it. there was a nut loose that i tightened that was blowing out oil under boost im pretty sure. i got to take it out tomorrow to check

So you are not leaking as much oil as before right? The feed line is fine, its the same size as mine, and your drain line is the right size too. But if your drain line is held on with those hose clamps and barb fittings - thats not that great. You should get some of the Earls stainless steel fittings from Summit.com or it would be better if theres a shop near you that sells them so you can go in and make sure everything fits. Then it is guaranteed not to leak if they are on right. You can reuse your SS drain line if its real stainless braided line, but get the fittings. They should only cost like $40 or something, but it is a lot safer. If your drain line pops off when you are driving you wont even know until its too late because you don't have the oil guage. Well at least your oil light would come on, but then you are stranded wherever you are.

Heres what the fittings look like (red/blue). This is one of my old drain lines, which was real shitty and cost me my turbo. I'll get pics of my current one next time I have my car up on a lift.

The line isn't what cost you your turbo...all those kinks in the line and the line being too long cost you your turbo. The oil return line should be as smooth as possible and completely downhill. A 45* fitting off your turbo and a shorter line would have saved you.

I've got the head off and at the head shop right now. I'm doing ARP studs, fresh headgasket, head deck checked for square, valves checked, and a fresh tune for the Hondata. I'll be at the ATL meet and my car should be tip top. The sidewinder manifold is great...but I still don't have AC in, lol.

He's right, that is a great drain line, its got the hose clamp and barbed fittings like yours too. Does yours look anything like that? I couldn't do mine that easy because of where my turbo was sitting, it is facing the opposite way too.

I have a 4AN feed and I was told by my friend who knows a lot (at least more than me) about turbo Hondas that it was fine, and not to get a restrictor. I don't know though, a lot of people say 3AN works better.
