Re: leaded Race Fuel (D-Man)
unless he is talking about leaded race fuel that is used in race engines that dont have hardened valve seats. Unhardened seats was the reason for lead in fuel. Be more specific so we can help you out a little better.

Re: leaded Race Fuel (JGb18C1)
i would not use leaded gas in your car, its no made for it.....one of the reason why they used leaded gas was because in the head designs of yester year the valve seats were brass and needed a tad bit of extra lubrication so they wouldnt wear out, the lead is actually a kind of lubricant, but now modern cars dont have that, and are now built to take unleaded gas, i would not try it

i wouldnt run any higher then 108 octane, leaded gas as stated before can **** your engine up. Lead clogs a catalytic converter and renders it inoperable within minutes. The Earth became covered in a thin layer of lead, and lead is toxic to many living things (including humans). Airplanes are still allowed to use leaded gasoline, and octane ratings of 115 are commonly used in super-high-performance piston airplane engines (jet engines burn kerosene, by the way). Theres a little 411 for ya
