launch rpm with drag radials
At what rpm are you Nitto and Comp TA guys launching. I'm using 215/50-15 ADVAN A048 SS compound with 10~12psi. I usually launch at 5300rpm with some wheel spin and my best launch has been a 2.1sec 60ft time. I need to get my 60ft times down to 1.9 so I will be more competitive with the purposely built 1/8 mile cars over here. If I launch below 5k rpm the engine bogs too much and if I go over 5800rpm all I do is spin. I just repaired the clutch switch for my Hondata so I'm hoping I will be able to get lower and more consistent 60ft times. One of these days I'm going to get a set of the new Comp TA's but until then I'm gonna stick with my A048's until they die. I don't want Nitto's because the side walls are stiffer and the compound is harder than the A048's.
I always catch the Starlet that has beats me at the lights and his ET's are faster because of his 1.7~1.9 60ft times. I can't wait until the 1/4 mile race this fall because that lil' Starlet runs out of juice after the 1/8 mile mark.
oops.. we are running less than 1/8 mile since the track is only 150m (200m=1/8mile) but my best time was a 7.6sec @ 130kph to his 7.5 @122 kph.
The Starlet also has a $7k engine that runs 1.5bar of boost to my .55bar. I might turn the boost up to .7bar for the next race but I don't want to kill this engine before the other two are built.
My LS Teg FD finally arrived so I will also be using an LS gearset for the next event on April 28. I'm looking to run 7.5 @ 135kph!

Re: launch rpm with drag radials (Dee)
I guess I shoulda posted a pic of nekkid JDM honeys or something.
Here's a pic from a my first 3/4 of an 1/8 event. The guy on the right under the hut is HKS driver T. Kawasaki. I think he enjoyed destroying my name all day.

That's the most ghetto drag strip I've ever seen.

Strip may be ghetto but it's better than losing my license or going to jail for dragging on the streets. Track has a professional light and system that measures RT, ET, 60ft,330ft, 660ft, 1320ft and speed. 660 and 1320 aren't used since the track area is limited.
USDM frontend... bwahahahahahahah... The 4 light frontend was available in Japan before being released anywhere else.

Hehe, how weird that someone said that. I just PM's Dee the other night asking about this.....heres a copy of our conversation.
(1:49 PM 7/26/2002) 93LSivic: Hey man. Just curious. Do people over there in Japan gawk over the usdm front end on your integra just how people over here gawk over the jdm conversion for our dc2's?
Hehe, JDM here---USDM there. Funny.
(1:52 PM 7/26/2002) Dee: My front end is a JDM frontend! All '93~'95 JDM DC2's came with the four headlights setups.
(1:54 PM 7/26/2002) 93LSivic: Oh. Huh, guess thats what I get for having a civic and not really caring about all the JDM hype.
