launch problems
I have some problems with my launch since i got the turbo. The biggest problem is my slicks are to little(20/8/14). Now when i launch i have allot of wheelspin in 1st gear. But when i shift to 2 gear my rpm's fall's back dead to 4500 rpm.
what would be the best way to launch????
I shift from 1 to 2 gear @8500rpm
here is my dyno. Maybe it help's

if you shift from 1st to 2nd and your rpm's fall that much you have WAY too long of a 2nd gear gearing or you're shifting early.
i know you say you have willspin in first but do you ride it until the engine hits 8.5k w/ spin and shift;
or do you shift @ 8.5k because that happens to be the rev limit and you're riding it until you run out of speed in first

Yeah. If you're shifting as soon as you hit 8.5k then your not allowing the car to get up to speed causing the large rpm drop to second. You need to let the car catch up to the wheels. Oh, and this should really be in the drag racing forum.
