Default Launch Control on Engine Management

I've never heard of this before, but again the guy that's into VW's uses a German engine management I believe.. it's called DTA. He said he uses the stock ABS sensors to sense when the car's front tires are rotating faster than the rear and then it adjusts the timing according.. he says' that once he's done he can get the ultimate launch control with the stock ABS sensors.. does EMS or Hondata have that??

Motec has it , it's called traction control. I believe Autronic has it as well.

yep Autronic does have it, but i think only the higher-end SM2 rather than the SMC.

Neat ECU's, i will be using an Autronic SMC on my setup. It even has functions for flat shifting and anti-lag in that version, while the SM2 has both traction control and launch control on top of that

I think the dta mgmt is garbage. all the cars that run it down here get whooped. this includes porsches,BMW's and the civic's. It might be the one guy that tunes it down here doesnt know what he is doing but I havent seen a car that runs hard with DTA. I believe the DTA only has launch control and not traction control. Thats what i was told.

yeah.. I've never heard of it before.. but I was told it costs 2500 bones! that's ridiculous I think. The guy who uses only works on VWs and he's got some sick cars. He's currently working on his own Porsche he just picked up.. 85 chasis he's made to accept 98 suspension and body panels. He's shooting for 500 street horse and 800 when he cranks up the boost. The other project he's got going on is a corrado VR6 twin turbo. It's going to be mid-engine rear wheel drive. Total custom job.. he said around 30k for the job!!

Anyway... Every VR6 that goes with his turbo system makes at least 385.. that's his minumum and gets DTA. He said it was around 10k to go turbo with the Vr6 because you have to build up the whole drivetrain.. and VW **** is expensive.
