Default LA Sleeves

I have an H23... the H-series have that stupid ****** FRM coating so i cant run forged pistons on stock sleeves. However the ringlands on the H series suck so i have to run forged pistons to go over 6-7psi. I really dont want to go over 12psi... ever... I have heard that LA's oem replacement sleeves (the 3/32 and 1/8 versions, not there boost sleeves) will hold 14-15psi but i generally just need them becasue there iron without the FRM coating. Does anyone here use the oem LA sleeves???? and what do you have to say

I used them for a b20 i built. They are a great company I think the head guy's name is dave, He helped me out alot. They seemed to work fine at the time they were one of the only companies with b20 oem replacement sleeves.

Yeah... buddy, thosedont look like the oem replacement sleeves... those sleeves look like there a fricken 1/2inch thick... those are there boost sleeves... The only reason im resleeving is so i can run forged pistons, i will never boost over 12, and will probably boost 8 street and 10-11 track. But i need a sleeve without that stupid fricken FRM

LOL. Ya you'll pay $75 for the sleeves, and how much do you think you'll pay to get them installed at a machine shop? Yep $500 +.

that $500 GE price includes machine time.

once you go 8 psi,you will want 15,trust me,just get the better sleeves first time around.then you will have no worries, even when you feel like stepping up.after you pay for the oem replacements,it would only be a few hundred more for the better sleeves.labor will most likely cost the same no matter what sleeve you go with.

no you didn't. If you did you wouldn't have compared $500 GE sleeves for $75 LA Sleeves.

GE blocks are $800 about . Benson I believe is $900. All sleeves + machine time are going to come out with $300 of each other.

If your looking to go the cheap route don't even get sleeves get a block guard.

im guessing you've never been turboed before... im not lying to you and no one else in here is... you WILL get boost happy... you might be able to just give it the cold shoulder but you WILL want more boost. Either you'll say "fine, i'll just raise it 2 or 3 more psi, or you'll say **** it, i want 380whp; tiem to pull the block, take out those gay *** stock replacement sleeves and send the block off to GE or aebs.
