Kteller 3" Exhaust LOUD!!!
I bought a Kteller 3" stainless bolt up kit that came with a 5x8 magnaflow muffler, and I added a 18" resonator. Kteller 3" testpipe, 3" Spoolin performance downpipe, and holy f'ing crap *****!!!! this thing is too loud, it's just drowing out my interior. I did my research, and some people said it was loud, and some said it wasn't loud, and there are hardly any vids to really confirm this.
what are my options too make this thing not as LOUD! From 2500-3500rpm cruising is very irritating. this is my daily driver, and I had no idea that it would be this loud
Would adding on a high flow cat make a difference in noise? If it's minimal, then I would rather not spend money and add a cat (no emissions here) Don't get me wrong, the power increase is great. spool time is better, and the car pulls even harder in vtec. so I would hate to just sell this thing because of the noise.

rght now im na but i am adding a turbo very soon. i have the 2.5" piping with a high flow cat and the same muffler. right around 4k it starts to have a buzzzzing sound. i hate it but hopfully when the turbo goes on it will stop that. but yeah adding a cat will quiet it down

are you serious?!?! this is quiet to you guys. I cannot imagine how loud your car must be. I will have to post a reving, and full throttle pass vid. I can feel my seat vibrating from the exhaust, CD cases in pockets of my door vibrates.

check to make sure your exhaust isnt rubbing on anything...that'll make it seem louder inside the car than usual.

hey man i feel your pain.
right now i run
3 inch downpipe
no cat
3 inch moroso spiral flow resonator 12"
3 inch dynomax resonator 18"
magnaflow muffler (kteller)
couple things I heard help with the sound.
1- I will be replacing my 12" resonator with a second 18" resontor (yeah Im crazy)
2- you see how the muffler does not go past the bumper? That makes it sound louder. I have a vibrant stealth muffler and I'm gonna have it stick out past the bumper so the sound was absorb into the bumper

well I have a slip joint on one of my kteller pipes (bought bolt up kit) and i guess I can extend that, but i'm not sure the hangers will allow me to extend the muffler without any welding modifications. I will try and see what I can do about that.

try bending the hangers toward the car more, and push out the muffler.

I have full 3 inch kteller exhaust, 22 inch resonantor, magnaflow muffler and it's very quiet. What the hell were you expecting buying 3 inch exhaust? It's not going to be as quiet as stock lol. **** I had to turn my volume up just to hear your car idle...

it sounds exactly like my car...i am running 3" striaght from the turbo back to a magnaflow muffler...i like the idle sounds gots that distinct turbo sound to it...

I am running the same magnaflow muffler and also with an 18" resonator (Dynomax). I have a Carsound 3" cat, and it's still loud between 2500-4000RPM.
It's going to get worse later on when carbon begine to build up in the resonator and muffler
Your best bet would be to run no cat to free up some power, but use a baffled muffler. I recently purchased a Dynomax 3-chamber muffler that is still high flow and also 3" in/out; I temporarily connected to my exhaust and it drastically quieted down the car to almost stock
I am sure I lost some power, but I realized I can always up the boost to get the power back but have a quiet car at the same time

I have it with a Catco 3" and a magnaflow muffler. Its loud, no rediculously loud, but it drones really bad on the highway. I am probably going to have a resonator put in

the problem is your muffler,
wtf is a 8" long muffler going to do?
and you should run the longest resonator you can.
22" is good.
personally i've got an itr resonator, and some ebay muffler.. 2.5" in and 3.5" out.. but the muffler body is only like 14" long, and mine is TOO loud as well.
so yeah, gotta be more careful picking ur sound dampening parts
the cat wont help all that much, but maybe alil.

umm mine is the oval magnaflow, its I think 14"+ inches long, and when you scream into it, my little brother can barley hear you

Thats hella quiet compared to some people's cars. Loud would be my friend's turbo LS...that **** is loud. 3in: DP/Exhaust/N1 Muffler
