Default Kit almost complete, whats wrong with the starter now?!

hey guys, im very close, just purging the air through the send line but cant get the car to start heres what happens...

First off... charge battery all the way up and check terminals. try to start car and nothing. figure starter is dead. its old so i just bite the bullet and go buy a new one (couldnt hurt).

second. install the brand new starter, re-charge battery (just in case), check connections. turn the key and just click click click click as long as i hold the key. recheck the connections, take it out, and re-install. maybe the battery is dead right? just jumpstarting it from my moms pilot with jumper cables still nothing...i have no idea whats goin on or why it wont start.

please help, im very anxious and cant wait to get this thing running. any ideas? thanks

How old is the battery...it might not be able to hold a charge? i had that happen to me....I would double check your ground and power wires...maybe even check the fuses under the hood? Im sure you will find it will be something stupid, it always is when you complete a big project......Just double and triple check everything

nothing in the kit is electronic...the boost guage and injectors were installed when i was still n/a and car ran and started up fine then... so maybe just a new battery?

does the clicking sound like its getting power?

ive heard some rumors about flywheels not mating up or something...

i have the same problem too.. changed the starter and everything...after a million clicks it starts.. it's getting quite annoying

anybody have any ideas?

btw: did you install a new flywheel? for the accord, clutchmaster had faulty flywheel rings gears causing the car to grind at start up or click..i dunno about integras though

I thought it was my starter as well. but after having them tested and my battery charged it still didn't work. As soon as I bought a new battery the problem was solved.

i charged both my batteries sitting around and still nothing... possibly could it be the starter terminals or something? i do have the battery in the trunk, maybe a bad connecton somewhere? but what boggles my mind is that it worked perfectly before i pulled it into the garage for the overhaul...hmm...weird. i guess ill just go bite the bullet (again) and get a new battery too...

Sounds like you have a ground off check them all and make sure they are clean and tight

sheezzz this weekend i finally fixed my problem. bad installation of the alarm = loose starter wire.. plus i sanded down the ground connection for a clean surface and tightened the connections on the battery.. started my car 10 times in a row no problems now.. so i'm guessing now it's only your electrical that's causing that problem nothing mechanical. go over your battery to under your dash with aftermarket alarms etc etc

My bet is on the battery. Especially if you stored the battery on the ground while you were doing the buildup. Buy a battery. If it doesn't solve the problem (which I doubt), you can always take it back...
