how important is this and how cold is too cold??

very important, 950-1100 psi is target, your cars a/c heater with the rear seat folded is a good budget bottle heater.

i have it behind the passanger seat with the floor heater on, is this good enough?

900-1000 psi, 950 is optimal pressure.

very important . when i 1st got mine , i was wondering why i felt no difference. . . . was pressure issue . . 900-1100 is great
