Default Just installed uber basemap, car runs like poop

Setup:
b18b
t3/to4e @ 7 psi
Crower 404 cams, springs and ret.
450cc Inj

Well. I've been runnin on the safc "hack" and it ran perfect. No misses/backfires/idles great at around 750rpm (+/-)

I sent out my ecu to be chipped, told him exactly what i had and what not.
i get the ecu today and install and it ran really crappy, idled really rough , like struggling to stay on then just dies. also a crap load of smoke kept coming out and i thought it would stop but didn't.
kinda reminded me when i installed my cams without tuning or what not. got any insight on this? lmk.

Something is wrong w/ the .bin. I suggest downloading a version of UD, getting a burner and, creating your own basemap. It's very simple and there is plenty of support on the UD forums and here. If you are willing to do that LMK and I'll walk you through making a basemap.

A BASEMAP is not a TUNE. It is a basemap to get you to your tuner. The only way to do this yourself is to buy a ROM burner and a wideband, otherwise give up now and pay someone to tune the car.

IMO, a basemap w/ 450's should idle like an OE vehicle. The boost portion may be bananas but, the car should run like stock in vacum.

Agreed. Sounds to me that the basemap the guy made did not account for 450's and it's running uber rich.

You can go to e-bay and search for "Willem Enhanced" which can be found for between $50-$60 or go to http://www.moates.net and search for the BURN1 which is $85 + s/h.

I like my burn1.

BTW, my setup is on 6psi with DSM 450s. I whipped up a basemap in about one minute and the car started and ran like a champ.

Wait, you live in the 818? If worst comes to worst, you can come over to Simi Valley and I will make you a basemap.

Sorry. My PLX is hardwired in so I can't swap it to another car for tuning. But you don't need a wideband for a basemap.

It seriously takes about thirty seconds to make a basemap. The base maps run on stock ECU maps when you are out of boost, so if your car doesn't start/idle right, then someone fudged the settings. Heck, if you download the software and buy a burner, I can just tell you what to click to get a basemap going.

It sounds like the injector scaling was done wrong. That's a two second fix.

no2unenolife,

You said that you had run the AFC hack before, so you were running an FMU right? how long were you running an FMU for on those 450's? But lie Enzospeed said maybe whoever made your basemap messed up the injector sizing. Cause if it has a crappy idle, then either the injector sizing in your .bin is wrong, or there is something wrong with the injectors themseves.

AFC hack and FMU are not the same thing, what are you talking about BlueShadow?

never ran fmu, just safc hack w/ the 450's and it runs great with the hack, but i don't want to rely on it.

I dont know much about the ADC hack and I dont really wanna know. I might just be thinking about people who use the FMU with stock injectors and using an AFC to richen/lean out fuel at certain RPM points. I dont know if larger injectors and the AFC hack still use the FMU or not (I wouldn't think so cause at higher FP that's a lot of fuel).

Hopefully it's just bad injector sizing. I remember reading posts about used DSM injectors leaking. S people usually get them cleaned and flow tested to make sure they aren't bad.

yeah you're confused. The "AFC hack" is when people use 450cc injectors and turn them down with an AFC effectively controlling fuel while tricking the map into not actually seeing boost.
