Thanks for the comments, yup it's red. I used my money I wanted for some new rims on motor work. I'm going to have to butter my wife up for more parts (sleeves, lsd) later in the future lol

Nice!

Maybe I should create my own post, but what is the reason for upgrading the valvetrain? I have a pretty similar setup (stock GSR head). I realize you did some headwork, but if you didn't rev it any higher after the valvetrain work, what's the point of building the head? Is it because you can melt a stock valve at these #'s? If so, I need to do my valvetrain because I'm making similar #'s.

He's revving to 9k, and with 9k plus 17psi on stock valvesprings its going to be hard to keep your valves shut when they're supposed to be.

It seems like it'd be easier and much cheaper to just rev to 8,300 and call it good. I'm not saying it's not a good mod, but a grand of headwork to rev another 700 just doesn't seem like it's worth it for <400whp. I'm not saying it was a bad idea by any means... i'm just wondering if there is a good reason for me to build my head. Some Skunk 2 Tuner 1's would probably go very well with this built head... but damn those are expensive too! I guess I'm just too cheap for hondas!

Definately for more assurance . I was always paranoid before when I was pushing it passed 8,500+ rpms on the stock valvetrain. I also have a plans to change cams later on down the line. Now it's finally done, I won't have to worry about it later on.

The reason you rev higher isn't necessarily to carry the engine powerband farther, it's so that you can stay in a numerically lower gear, longer... you take advantage of the transmission torque conversion that way. You make a lot more effective torque in 1st gear at 9k than you do in 2nd gear at 6k
