just got a hondata... which boost controller?
i just recieved my hondata s200b, but now i need a boost controller and im low on cash... i was gonna get the profec II, but i dont have that kind of money right now... since i have the hondata im assuming i wont need any type of fancy unit, just something that will do its job at a good price... let me know guys.. TIA
well i WAS considering the profec b, but all i need is something to control the boost right?... i mean hondata should have everything else covered.. what more do i need from the profec if i did have it, besides the boost controlling mechanism..
and arent there some little pen sized boost controllers by hks?. do they work fine?

turbo XS is a ball and spring type, it is a manual. they're about 75 to 125 bucks.
Hondata and Boost controller are 2 different things, hondata control fuel, BC control pressure for boost.

i know that, but what i was saying was "do i really need the profec B, because all i really need something to controll Boost right?.. and nothing else.. since i already have hondata", so the turbo xs controller seems like it will do the job for a cheap price..

I'd still go for something like a Profec B, AVCR or HKS, Blitz controllers, as i trust them to hold boost and not spike much more than i trust a manual boost 'controller'
Just work overtime, do some side jobs... hell if you got the S200, no sence getting cheap now. everyone tells me that the turbo xs manual boost controller (the dual stage is $170 I think) will work great if you can't afford an electronic.
I'm in the same boat as you, but I said screw it and got the new profec B gen II. it would have been nice to get the Blitz though

naw dude, thats the boost option for hondata to read boost, not a boost controller.
boost is vaccum, not electronics.
if you only want to run 7 psi, why not get a .45 bar wastegate... and not run a boost controller for now? save up, and when time comes to run 1 bar, you can get a profec, or the avcr.
