..Just got back from the machine shop; motor setup inside with 20 pix! :)
Well after 3 months my head and motor are finally done.
I got a .5mm bore for the over sized pistons
They decked block
Blanced crank, pistons, rods, wrist pins
Welded in the block guard
Then port and polished the head, U grind and Milled it was well.
Any how here are the pics; I just though Id share them with you guys. I know they say it should go in apperance, but this was motor work not bling bling or sounds.
I also snapped a few pictures of the dads mustang; I few ppl wanted to see some other pics of it so here they are
And.....(it keeps going) For anyone that bought or planned on buying that D1 fuel rail; he redisgned with some rice words (Fuel Rail). Anyhow thast another story....Thanks for looking

Re: ..Just got back from the machine shop; motor setup inside with 20 pix! :) (ndogg)
Sup nDogg; Its finally done
Im very aware of the dangers of a block guard; my machine shop backs those guards up 100%. Theyve made well over enough power to believe in them (20+ motor setups with them). I read up on a lot of things to do with block guards; and If you have a machine shop install it properly IT WILL work out for the better. Dropping a block guard in is not the way to go.
With this setup I want at least 350whp. If I can hit 400whp Ill be very pleased. I want to try it around 14~15psi. If they motor still seems to hold well; and I grew some ***** over time; Ill crank the psi up to 20 or so. Im still learning all of the turbo dos/donts; Ive read alot of posts but Im having a hard time believing in my stock sleeves. But everytime I see cheese frogs setup.....I feel like cranking the boost up....hehe any how; thanks guys

That right there is why I make myself look stupid when I talk cars with the mechanics. You dont know who to believe on the computer. You dont know if its a 12 year old kid; or a 25 year old that knows his ****.
When I researched the block guards the main concern with them was the over heating issue. I contacted a few companies (GE, and Race Eng. (the one I have) and they all told me the same things. If you just drop a guard it it WILL restrict the flow of the coolant sometimes. If you weld it in place and drop it down about 1/8" - 1/4" then it will allow a little pocket between the head and the block. For 150 bucks (100 for the guard+50 for labor) I feel it will be a very good investment for extra insurance. Why buy rods like I did or head studs when all I want is 350whp. Everyone has seen tons of motors that are making well over 300whp on stock internals....I bought it and did what I did because I want a reliable dailydriver and track car that has 300+whp. Better to be safe then sorry.
Thanks again for the input guys.

If you are talking about coolant flow you don't know what you are talking about. Ever wondered why Honda successfully made millions of closed deck motors? Obviously coolant flow is overrated.
