just because its an apexi intercooler, is it that much better than the spearco with the same dimensions? " silvia size BTW" its (19.7"L X 9.33"H X 2.7"W)
No I use a spearco. And I've had no problems with it. I think it's just the Name thing. It should be the same thing. All fmic basically do the ame thing. Besides save your money I know the spearco is alot cheaper.

There actually is a lot of differences in these 2 intercoolers. Sprearco is a bar and plate style and apex is tube and fin style. They both have their ups and downs but either way...you cant go wrong. Id go with which ever is cheaper cause they both are great at getting the job done......Mike
A friend of mine just sold his brand new silvia core for a Spearco like mine (24x6.5x3). Seem's mine flowed more CFM. I think Apexi's looks great although I think it's more name than anything else!
I would like to quote FFgeoff if i may:
"One thing many people think when they see the Apex'i core is that its really cool... well thats because it looks really cool. It is actually fairly inefficient, but looks AWESOME. The Apex'i GT-R core flows poorly for its size. The Spearcos are the best bar and plate cores out there.
The difference between bar and plate is that the bar and plate style's core flow tubes look like the front of the IC with the zig-zag lines filling it up. The extruded cores have the small ribs where it touches the side (only place where heat transfer occurs) and allows the air to blow freely through. As a result, there is a lower pressure drop, and the same amount of heat is removed."

i went from a spearco to a apexi and it made a huge difference.it spools much faster and makes about 50 more whp.i think the fact that it made about 10 more pounds of boost after the install shows pretty much how much better it flows.
