Default Junkyard turbo.. Suitable turbo? Pics..

I got this turbo for free so im thinking about using it.. is it suitable? It has very little shaft play when dry and seems to be in overall good shape.

Heres some pics. I dont know what it is or what it came of off. Also i know is its a 'IHI' turbo.

Does anyone know how to tell what the wastegate is set at?

Thanks!

Yep. IHI, looks to be a Nissan version. Sometimes you can get a turbo and use it without a rebuild, but this one looks really used. Definately going to want to do a rebuild, and you will find that this turbo is pretty small for almost any Honda engine. (Similar in specs to a Garrett T25)

I was planning on using it on a d16 nonvtec 8psi Junkyard turbo setup for the track..

But we notice that if you push UP on the shaft and spin it the turbine scrapes the side so its junk because we arent rebuilding

Thanks
