One piece of advice I awlays tell people after my experiences with building custom turbo kits is to not cheap out on the turbcharger. There is nothign more frustrating then piecing together your whole kit, bolting it on, getting all excited and finding out your internal turbo seals are blown to ****. I went threw 3junkyard turbos before I finally decided to bite the bullet and by nice T3 from a friend who was upgrading.

if the internals are bad, is there any way to repair them or is the turbo trash?

Yes. If it's just the seals it is an easy rebuild. I recommend taking it some place or sending it out, but people do try and do it themselves. If I paid under 75bucks for a turbo, the first thing I would do is get it rebuilt. That's just me though.

Re: (SICKSOLVTEC-T)
there are rebuild kits available online for about 100 bux. The part that is specialize is the balancing of the shaft (assuming the shaft is still good).
i got mine out of a saab for 50$. im considering replacing the seals.

My local yard has about 3 Saab t3 turbos right now. I have been ignoring them recently though cause they look kinds old.
I dont know for sure their condition though
I assumem by your name you have a lude right? I dont know how those t25's work on your size car, probably too small. I have one on my d16 and its great.
Next time i'm at the yard i'll look closer at those t3's

If you yank out a turbo from a car of the same size you should be straight.

The problem is most cars that have the same size motor as our cars dont rev to 8krpms.

Yeah, good catch. That was my assumption.
But then again, most cars use T3's... There should be some confidence that it would work for your application with that in mind.
