Default jrsc replacement belts

when replacing the belts for the jrsc, do i have to order directly from JR? or can i simply find the correct size and just get them at the local stores?

if so, any differences between the two?

thanks in advance.

No difference...JR uses bando belts if I remember right.

I always thought the regular run of the mill Dayco belts held up the best. Just get them from your local parts store. You just need to know the size to tell the guy behind the counter.

Be prepared for a conversation along the lines of "no it doesnt come on the car stock. yes, i understand you cant look it up in the computer. do you have it back there? can I just go look?"

Have had zero issues with my Goodyear belts. My tiny Goodyear belt for the blower on my prelude has yet to slip, and it has 10k miles on it.

haha so true, so true.

yeah i've had great luck with goodyear as well, specifically their "gatorback" belts. i'll see how they hold up when i bump up to 9-10psi. thats the real test....

I plan on upgrading my crank pulley belt when I install the CRV crank pulley to up the boost to about 10PSI and I have been hearing about those Goodyear Gatorbacks and supposedly how good they are.

The belts that I have had the most luck with are the Dayco and the Dayco Poly Cogs...you can find them at nearly any Pep Boys...

I run Goodyear gatorback belts. Your looking for the belt size 4pk590 or something close to it. The size closest is 4pk595. It should say it on the cover and on the belt itself. I love the gatorbacks. It has about 10,000 miles on it and definately seeing some wear but the boost guage still hitting 11-12psi solid. I ran bando belts and when there was some obvious wear on it the boost would not be the same and would continually get worse and this was at 6psi.

Gatorbacks have been doing good for me so far.

I got over 60K miles at 10psi on a Dayco PolyCog belt (crank-alt belt) before a frozen tensioner pulley killed it, but it almost survived the 40 mile drive to work while the back of belt was glazing from the heat... Damn good belt...
