Default JRSC GSR times

Friend of mine has a gutted gsr w/ a JRSC running ~11psi. The only track close by is a 1/8 mile time, his best run was

60' 2.12
et 8.6
mph 85

he had several 8.7 and 8.8 runs as well, one run was a 8.9 @ 86.8 that was his fastest trap

This was w/ a crappy 2" DC 1piece header, test pipe, greddy cat back exhaust.
290cc injectors, cartech fmu, and aem fpr. O yeah tires were AO32Rs and the car weighs in at 23xx lbs.

Does that seem about right? slow? fast? for what he has done.

if the car is gutted it wold weigh less that 23xx depending on how much gutting your talking about

i have a civic(yes i know it doesnt really compare)
stripped interior romoved all the tar from the interioir body, all seats and brakets, all carpets, back 3 windows lexan, roof liner removed, all plastic trims removed, carbon hood blah blah blah......by car weighs in at roughly 1895, but i could be wrong our scales have been acting up.....but he shold be lighter if he gutted it....and he should be faster, but it could be driver too....not saying your buddy is lame or anything but he may be launching wrong, or there could be a whole host of things

First off stock GSR seats weigh 80lbs a pair. I have all the glass in my car, no carbon fiber anywhere, i have powersteering, power windows/locks. The car is still street legal but its not daily driven. The car DOES weigh 2318 with me in it. Im 190lbs.

Maybe i cant launch? 2.12's on street tires? I think thats a fair job(.1 off drag radials).

Your correct, their could be a host of things wrong. One being this isnt really the greatest track open, but it is open and its the closest that is open.

So you were right on one thing, you have a civic, it doesnt really compare. I still have that glue stuff on my floor board, and hell, even a glove box and door panels.

So, if i had what YOU had, lets see......

Seats=80lbs (lets just say)
Windows=50lbs
Hood=30lbs.
Powersteering(rack)=30lbs with steering pump
power window motors=10lbs
Heater Core=20lbs

Thats appx. 220lbs. So say, 2300-220 is 2080 WITH me in it. So that would be around 18XX without me.

I havent seen any better times from a similiar setup anywhere on the net. Just me, but maybe i just dont know?

And the car has never had the head off. 70,000 miles of boost and climbing on the 80,000 mile car.

WHat "should" i run? 7.9s in an 1/8th? High twelves with a supercharger on a stock block?

Im not tryin to come off pissed or anything, but good greif. mid 8's is fairly good for a Honda. Especiall since i finally get goin by top of 3rd.

well, that kind of isnt impressive. the 1/8th track over here has a civic coupe supercharged. running the stock pulley and his own water injection setup he ran 9 flat. he is sponsored though so he must be tuned to hell.

Would it help to say i ran a 8.90's/9.0's with NO water injection, stock pulley, and no other bandaids? And by the way...... Four/five tenths is kinda hard to make up in an 1/8th mile, in a 1/4 you at least get the top end of a HONDA pull. What were his speeds? Anywhere near 84+mph? Probably not.

For Christ sake, dont turn this into a "i know a guy who knows a guy that is neighbors with my mothers brothers cousins friend who knows Steph Papadakis and he is faster than you"

Also, if you look at my SIG, my car is not even setup for DRAG. Id say a low 13 seond Honda that takes a top 5 finish in SOLO2 is a pretty damn quick and versitle car. But thats just my opinion.

94 GSR JRSC, ENDYNE pulley (9-10psi), RC310 Injectors, J & S Safeguard, MSD, Kami Header, 3" Thermal exhaust, Rev Limiter bumped to 9k, ITR Exhaust cam, Crower retainers, ITR springs + lost motion, AEM CAI - (switching to icebox), Cartech FMU, Walbro F.P.
I actually built this to be more of a roadrace/Autox car but with the engine work its still pretty quick at the track (full body):
I1 : 1.91 (60ft)
I2 : 5.34
I3 : 8.20 @ 85.79
I4 : 10.72
ET : 12.81 @ 108.41

WOAH! calm down jrsc dude..

8.6 @ 85 is pretty good..

there could be alot more factors to be considered.. elevation, track conditions.. with a 2.0 u could do 8.5 @ 85 and probably 13.5 @ 105 in the 1/4.. Not too shabby but definitly not up to par for the wieght of your car.. Thats why I think elevation or track conditions have something to do with it.. what elevation are u at?

I know u dont wanna hear this but ill make a comparison.. My friend is running 13.8 @ 102 in the 1/4 and 8.8 @ 82 w/ a 2.0 60ft in a full wieght GSR integra down here in Texas.. with the pulley upgrade and wieght reduction u have and can totally see that car going 13.2's @ 108 or 8.2's @ 88.. still those are impressive times for any JRSC GSR and good job..

I've seen a lot of "quick" V8 cars run 8.x in the 1/8th. The faster ones are in the low-mid 7s. I think that's a pretty good time for a 4 cylinder!!

wow wow wow there buddy, your geting alittle ticked off....dont get me wrong anything faster than stock is better than it was before, that time is good, im just trying to understand what gutted really meant,

those cars are heavy but they can make good power, so depending on the situation and the altitude, it could affect time....

and if your launch is good then thats great especailly if your only off from slicks by .1, thats great.....

oh yeah and my cars daily drivin
