JRSC on b18b1...timing question
how far back do you set the timing? i know the instruction say put it back to like 8, but with only running 5-6 psi, do you really have to go all the way back to 8? this other guy told my just to go back to 13.5-12. i've heard of other people only going back to 13 and have had no problems.
so what should i set it back to? i have it at 13 right now.

Your better to start off low and work up.
I usually set them at 10 BTDC , and test drive it . Go up at 1 deg at a time untill go just hear a slight knock and then go back a deg. It sounds crude but every car is differant, some can take 14 while some won't take more then 10.

electronics such at what?
hrere's what i have:
b18b1
jrsc running 6lbs
jrsc fmu
walbro 255 hp fuel pump
fpr
fuel pressure guage
1 step colder plugs gapped at .32
air/fuel guage
boost/vacum guage
i had it set back at 11 before. then yesterday i adjusted my cam gears and then i checked the timing. i went ahead and set it to 13 since i never had any problems having it at 11. i drove the car today and got on it, i was scared too, and i didn't have any problems. my air/fuel guage was on the rich side and my car felt real good. how will i know if i have the timing set to high? will the knocking noise be loud? i didn't hear anything wrong with it, i'm just wondering. it didn't hesitate or anything, it just got up and went.

To be safe, you should use some kind of timing retard device or a complete system such as the Hondata.
I have all the JR electronics I'll sell you for
$400
JR BTC
JR Map Controller
JR VPAC
THe BTC will allow you to retard timing as boost increases, the Map Controller will smooth the transition from vac to boost and eliminate tip in detonation, and the VPAC will allow you to lower your vtec point to make more low end power.
