Default Joe P. MBC Calibration

Okay, installed this MBC yesterday and i'm having a hard time trying to adjust the boost pressure. No matter how far out the **** is, my car boosts over 1 bar. I am running an internal wastegate 18g (5.5psi internal spring)... the side port of my mbc is going to the wastegate and the bottom port is going to my vaccum source.

I have read a couple posts that say the ball shouldn't rattle when the **** is all the way down? Mine still rattles when i turn the **** all the way down. Is this normal for the Joe P MBC?

I am trying to run 8psi, anyone have ANY tips so i can get as close to wastegate pressure as possible. THANKS!

yes the ball shouldnt rattle if it's tightened all the way down.
did you open it up to see if there's a spring in there?

try flipping the lines. i've seen alotta people install it backwards before.

yeah it sounds like it's installed backwards...the ball should be on the vac source side not the wastegate side

What is the proper way for the Turbo XS MBC to be installed on an external gate?

I know that, but which port on the MBC goes to the lower port on the gate? the lower port on the MBC?

i'm pretty sure the lower port (where the ball is) connects to the vac source and top port goes to the WG

Okay, i figured it out w/.... the spring was screwed all teh way down, which forced the second "overboost protecting" ball into the wastegate nozzle and bending the spring, therefore making the spring really compressed.... which is the reason why i was boosting over 1bar no matter what adjustments i made.

I opened it up straightened things out. Works great and holds 8psi steady now! for those that care, haha.

well, dont do what i did... playing w/ it before i put it in... don't screw the **** all the way down... this is a design "defect"... you will have to open it up if you do... not hard, but a hassle.
