Jim's bars are of great quality, i talk to him occasionally and had the same questions you have when i learned about his crossmembers. the only reason why he has a disclaimer for off road use only is due to the fact that he uses solid rod ends, which wear out faster then the rubber ones. replace those once in a while and you are good.
