JG/Edelbrock intake manifold 4 a LS
Is this manifold overkill for a lightly modified (310whp) street car boosting 15 psi and reving to 7500rpm? Or am I better off with a skunkworks2?

I would like to know this as well, does anyine know where i could get a flow comparison for this intake versus a stock? Thanks any one...

Geez, since when is 310 hp "lightly modified"?? Your car is fast now and will definitely benefit from the Victor X manifold. The larger plenum and straighter runner configuration gives each runner a bigger chunk of plenum to breathe from as compared to either the stock or Skunk manifold. This helps dynamic as well as bulk airflow.
Plus with the Victor you can add the second fuel rail later.

Re: JG/Edelbrock intake manifold 4 a LS (Above Redline)
But this intake makes the bulk of its power from 7000rpm to 10 000rpm. I don't plan on reving my LS anywhere past 7500rpm. So will this VictorX work for me or will the skunk manifold work better.

Re: JG/Edelbrock intake manifold 4 a LS (MIKES)
There is an article on this in a mag I have at home. It gained pretty good numbers on a NA and FI car. I can't remember the car (civic or integra). I do remember it gaining some huge numbers on the turbo car. Something like 44 horses. I don't know what the boost was (high though) and I don't know at what rpm the power was gained. I didn't really pay attention since they don't make one for the Prelude.
I'll see if I can find the article when I get home today.

The lastest Turbo magazine has an article about the manifold. Cover page claims 44 hp gain or some number like that. I didn't read the article, just glanced at the cover.
Go pick it up!

Better yet, you can just read the article on the website.
http://www.turbomagazine.com/archive...2_tech01.shtml
The 41.5 hp gain was on a fully built B18C1 @ 20psi/7450 rpm. Not a peak gain either. Peak gain was 27.4 hp.

Well, no one really knows the benefits of this manifold on the LS yet. I am willing to bet u will gain power with it. Id like to know this as well cause my car is going to be around 300whp too and I was thinking of getting this manifold as well.

Dude I know this is way off topic. But DIRep972 who is that fine *** chick in your avatar?
Just to make it a well rounded post: I plan on running that manifold as well.

i have been thinking about it too? it looks good in the mags, from what they say at least. esp for turbo , i guess it was a gsr with boost or soemthing and did 41 to the wheels and a type r na did 11.78 to the wheels, but the head was ported out and what not , so im sure that helped for flow and hp for the im too?
if someone gets it let us know . im curious.

Mike: I have been thinking serilously about getting the JG Edelbrock manifold too. Have you found it anywhere at a good price? Hope you got my email about the Zdyne.

Re: JG/Edelbrock intake manifold 4 a LS (blackteg)
Yes I just responded to your email, thanks alot. As for the intake manifold VS Racing sells them for 389 shipped. But he has none and probably won't have any for a while. I just went with the skunk2 manifold for now. I don't want to be the test rabbit with this product, I will wait and hear everybodies feedback on this unit first. I know it will work, but I don't know how well its going to work with 7500rpm shifting, considering it starts making power at 7000rpm.

Re: JG/Edelbrock intake manifold 4 a LS (MIKES)
I believe the stated power range would be for an N/A engine, correct? On a boosted engine you would just want the most flow into the cylinders. I am interested in this manifold for the LS, but I don't know of ANY boosted LS's that rev to 10G..It just doesn't make sense in a street car.

Re: JG/Edelbrock intake manifold 4 a LS (NotQuiteJdm)
Anything will make more power than the stock LS manifold. Me personally i would go with the Edelbrock.
What cams are you running that you only rev to 7500. You are missing out on some major power by cutting it off so soon. When i had jsut the Crower 403s i made power all the way at 8600.

I am running the JG 1001 cams but I am limited with stock valve train for now. I will upgrade the valve train over the winter.
