Default Jeff Evans can you explain this

http://forums.evans-tuning.com...=5105

http://forums.evans-tuning.com...=5147

hey jeff or any other explain whats going on here ? maybe i missed something but both cars are tuned on 93 octane and running 20psi. but one turbo is a 30R and the other a 35R and both are running a .85 a/r.

i think i understand why the 30R is making more power, but i wanna confirm if .2L is really that much more displacement. i would think that the compressor efficency would come into play somewhere here

The car running the gt30r has a ported head, more displacement and larger cams. Both cars are trapping similar mph levels, but at very different weights (30r is much heavier by around 400 lbs or so). The tuner 1 skunk2 cams make a huge difference in power output from what i have found.

GT30R car looks like it has a 84mm bore, cams, ported head and a larger throttle body.

GT35R looks like it has a stock head, stockish bore, stock cam, stock TB

I'd say probably the head and the bore are the two biggest differences.

Edit: Haha, the man himself speaks before me.

The 30r car trapped 133mph at 27xx lbs. The 35r car trapped 133mph at 23xx lbs, but running 23" slicks and hitting limiter in the middle of 4th gear through the traps so probably would have went 135-137mph range.

I just recently tuned a 35r car on pump gas with a 2.0 liter, tuner 1 cams, etc and made 550whp at 22psi and ran a 10.63 @ 141mph on 93 octane!!!

Cams make a huge difference. I have seen around 20-30 whp gains with the tuner 1 cams over the ctr/itr cams at the same boost level. Also, the difference between a 81mm to 84mm bore and 87mm to 89mm stroke is worth an additional 30-40whp in most cases with everything kept similar in parts.

WOW! What kind of timing are these set-ups running at that boost level and 93 octane?

Would like to know as well. Champlsinteg your #'s are very good for that turbo, same as mine. Can I ask more about the setup?

I'm raising the boost and tuning on c16 next time. I have not weighed the car but its probably over 2700 with me in it. I'm 225! LOL! I should be able to do it with that power with a better 60ft.
