In the middle of installing rings, I realize the second ring isnt really marked. It has a dot on it but no markings. It also has a chamfered edge. I dont know if it goes up or down....I checked the JE website and my gay *** browsers take forever and dont even open up the pdf file. Can someone throw me a fricken bone here?

 

Have you checked the JE Website?

Seriously, they have PDF's there that explain it in great detail with pics, too. Make sure you have Adobe Acrobat Reader (www.acroread.com) and go to JE's site to get the PDF. That'll probably be clearer than anyone can explain it here.

the dot and the JE logo is always on top. the bottom mostlikely wont have any markings.

 

mine said JE1 and JE2 on them...the markings face up...

remember to file and deburr them first.

 

If no markings, they can go either way but as everyone else has said, marks go up.

 

question- who here has used 4 spirolocks per piston?
