wantboost, it was an aborted post from the get go. OP necrobumped another thread, got called on it, went and decided to shitpost this thread. Mod moved it to GDD, because it was a shitpost, a GDD regular was smart enough to quote the original (shitty) post itself, and for some reason another mod decided to drop it on your domain.

There's a line, Geis. It's not even a thin line. It's a line drawn with that Sharpie that you find under a cabinet, that you're surprised even works, even though the tip is all flattened and fucked up. There's also certain treatment shitposters get in GDD, and an unspoken rule about said treatment. The treatment is given to shitposters. Not to regulars. Not to new people who are legitimate, decent posters. PatchyBooBoo went after regulars, and rounded it off by going after a mod. He broke the unspoken rule.

Actually the GDD denizens fit this description. I was actually trying to be kinda merciful by allowing your thread to live by moving it instead of the instant death of locking it.

Granted, it's cruel on my part as I know how merciless GDD is....

The sad fact is, a plain opinion based statement has no technical aspect to it and thus is not condoned in the technical forums.

GDD on the other hand is nothing but opinionated statements 90% of the time. But it seems there is a certain culture established there that doesn't take to your post topic presented as you presented it.

It's a catch-22 really. Sorry you had to learn the culture of H-T this way, you aren't the first one, and I promise.... You won't be the last. I suspect many of us have learned via the school of hard knocks here at H-T.

To the OP I'm sorry you got welcomed to HT in this way, unfortunately you jumped into the deep end of the pool covered in blood where the Sharks live. As you've no doubt figured out by now certain members and sub-forums can be savage. If you have a valid tech question then by all means don't hesitate to ask. All we ask is that you do it properly in the right section. Your first step should be to use the search tool on this site. If you find a thread in the search that is of a similar nature but doesn't totally answer your question then please look at the last post date before posting in said thread.

A lot of people don't like dead threads getting bumped as 99% of those who reply won't read the whole thing first and those who notice you resurrected a dead thread will give you endless amounts of ****. If the search doesn't help then make a new thread but again make sure you do it in the right area. Also have a clear and concise technical question or issue that you need help with. Doing this will not only increase your odds of getting helpful replies but it will keep you from getting attacked left and right
