Jdm B16a with Boost Question
I just put in a Greddy Turbokit in my 96 civic 4dr with a jdm b16a. Cars pretty fun to drive now. My buddy did a chrome basemap for me and eliminated the 02 sensor and knock sensor. Car idles funny now, jumps from 750-1000rpm and Im noticing a little black smoke accelerating after every stoplight. I have no cat in the car and I am guessing since I got 440cc injectors with just a basemap, My car is running kinda rich especially with no 02 sensor to compensate.. Would the car run alot better and efficient if I put my 02 sensors back in? or would a tune be better? Also, regarding 02 sensor, since I am running a chipped P28 ecu would I need both front and rear 02 sensor plugged in? or just need the front one plugged in like the obd1 cars?

Re: Jdm B16a with Boost Question
Sounds like you need to get a good dyno tune. When i first bought my car it had a chrome basemap and it ran like ****. It sounds identical to your situation especially with it running rich and the idle jumping around. When i got hondata s300 tuned on the dyno it was like a whole different car and it fixed the idle and the rich problem. I dont have a cat or 02 sensors. Plus, a basemap is just to get you by until you can get tuned not for daily use.

Thanks for the reply, I kinda figured that I need a tune, but the funny thing is, I had a similiar set up on my del sol and it ran relatively fine with a basemap, but I did have a 02 sensor on it.
