I am running a 10.4 compression jdm B16 with a 2.3 litre ford turbo and a drag manifold. With a good front mount intercooler and DSM 450 injectors. At 8psi it made 265 hp and 170 ft/lbs set up realy consevativly with a hondata stage 3b. Its been runnig for 3.5 years with no problems at all. I just recently upped the boost to 10 psi and switched to and changed the tune up to a little more power frendly 12.5 air fuel ratio and am making Just a tick under 300hp and 185 ft/lbs. That has been running like that since spring no problems. You should be in good shape with a similar set up but if you have the want to take it apart you should get the thicker head gasket. A block guard would be good also but only if installed properly.

the 2nd gen b16 autos are 160hp too. i know the cams are diff (vtec lobe is smaller, same cams as 1st gen b16) and im not sure if the compression is the same as 2nd gen manual trans. prob is.

3mm HG will drop the compression around 1 point i think, you should get cam gears with it too since it messes a little with the timing.

Bone stock JDM B16 with GSR cams and cam gears on an SC34 i made 300hp and 200trq at 9.5 psi

there is no differnce between both engines te first gen has a compression ratio of 10.2 and uses pr3 pistons while the 2nd gen has a copression ratio of 10.4 and uses p30 pistons the jdm version has a different ecu and slightly more agressive cams i know this because i own a gen 2 the gen 1 are **** obd0

Dude, that is MY setup right now. I broke my gsr block a year or so ago and have been running very strong on b16 block right now.

293 WHP 193 WTQ at 12 PSI running thicker hg as well. stock gsr cams, it revs a lil more than my gsr block did , arp headstuds as well.

IM not sure what the compression could be on this setup , so if anyone can let me know that would be great. My tuner said that the gsr head bumps the compression up from a b16 stock, so thats why we went with a cosmetic headgasket too. When i first got the car I was on stock gsr ecu and Edelbrock IM . I wanted to cry. The car ******* sucked at first. Took awhile to get it to where I want but at least it is reliable now
