Default JDM B16 good for boost

I know this is probably a stupid question and since the search server is down I decided to ask. How much difference would there be in boosting a jdm b16 compared to a usdm on 10 lbs tuned same setup on both. Is there gonna be a big difference due to the higher compression. Pros/cons to going jdm over usdm. Anybody running around 10 lbs on a jdm b16 in here, if so how do you like it what kinda numbers are you getting

the only difference betwwen the jdm and usdm b16 sir2 is the computer usdm makes 160 and jdm makes 170 and this is due to emissions laws in your country boost away

totally would be worth your while to set out and buy ARP headstuds.. and a 3mm Headgap.. that is a very popular setup around here.. just add injectors and a nice size turbo to your whole setup and you can easily run 16PSI

my buddy (he's not the smartest) but run's consistant 12.4's @ 113mph in his JDM b16 headgapped, Supra GT26 T4 turbo.. DSM 450 injectors, 3" exhaust.. MSD 6AL ign. etc etc.. all on 22" MT's... on only 14psi.. he plans on running 18-20 PSI on race gas! he's had this setup for more than a year.. and no problems what-so-ever... a few other buddies have similar setups.. that are all pretty quick aswell

approx. 300-320 WHP at 14PSI spiking at 15psi.. all of his power is at top end.. with that toyota T4... which is why his MPH is quite sweet at 113MPH.. his MSD 6aL with the msd blaster and dizzy cap make for a strong motor..

The 3mm headgap, now that sounds interesting, how much does that affect your compression?

So if 10psi is going to put me right around 280 to 310 hp (respectively), what are your torque numbers looking like at that hi of horse power???

i would disagree with the emissions comment the piston dome is slightly so the are different

i do beleive it's 10:2 vs. 10:4jdm

Anyone have any pointers for me to get info on a "3mm head gap," and what impact it may have? I don't mind reading, but searching didn't turn up anything...

That is a good question, I now have a p28 sitting around while I use the p30 that came witht he B16a. I know the p28 is reprogramable and that when chipped, makes for a good ecu. Though what type of engine managent would I still want to go with that would work with the P28?

There is a alot more different then that. It's actually cams and pistons etc that make the big difference. The fuel and timing advance between ecus are not taht much different either.

the 1st gen B16's have 10.2:1 compression which is what I have.

On a SC34 I hit 270/175 with bad exhaust leak.

how much will the thicker head gasket lower your compression and is it worth it?
