Default From Japan with love

Ok, I live in Barbados and all of our vehicles are JDM spec. Now that’s out of the way heres my story and first post on H-T.

My friend owned a 2000 CTR. He imported a second one for a guy, but by the time it got here from Japan, the guy's financing fell thru, which put my friend in a bind. So my friend sold his CTR and decided to just keep the new(er) one he just brought in. He eventually went to the port to cleared it...and then called me and told me he was coming over to show me sumthin.

From the outside it looked normal like a normal CTR...sweet...

As I got closer, I opened the passenger side door and was greeted by a full chassis bolted & padded roll cage. There also happened to be a Power FC commander sittin on the dash. (You can see the cage and the commander if you look real hard thru the passender side window)

All he said to me in a sheepish manner was "there's no AC either.." as he popped the hood...

Its a trust/ greddy turbo...not sure what spec (it was raining and i just wanted to snap a few pics), internal wastegate, cant indentify the mani, an APEX compressor filter and the theory is that theres an aftermarket gasket lowering the compression. Power FC ems, and 1 greddy boost guage. It runs between 7-9 lbs....and theres a hairline crack on runner #1 of the mani...the BOV is a greddy type R. The car moves, but we're gonna sort the mani with an inline pro AC compatible (my friend is whining abou the AC) if the repair weld doesnt hold.

Its a nice setup, but besides tuning it, you would have to tear down the power plant to know exactly what youre workin with. So thats our best guess so far. Will have the turbo spec this evening.

Damn, that's ****** hard! I couldn't imagine a car without AC in Barbados though! Are you anywhere near Bridgetown? I went there for a vacation a few years ago and I loved it.
